Shenzhen ATP 2016: Berdych and Bellucci semifinalists; Chengdu ATP 2016: Ramos semifinals, eliminated Lopez
Frenchman Richard Gasquet (3) and Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci in addition to Serbian Janko Tipsarevic and Czech Tomas Berdych (1) won their pass to the semifinals of the tournament Chinese Shenzhen.
On the other Chinese tournament in Chengdu surprise was the fall of Feliciano Lopez against Russian youth Karen Khachanov but the Catalan Albert Ramos beat the top seed Dominik Thiem. That of Moscow will measure forces with Serbian Viktor Troicki (6) in the semifinals. He also ranked Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (3).
Gasquet and Zverev were the first to jump to the track Shenzhen. After two breaks distributed by hand, the Frenchman won in sudden death 7-6 (4). A similar situation was experienced in the second quarter. After breaking once per side, Gasquet pulled back into the playoff caste and won 7-6 (2) in just over 2 hours. The Frenchman will face with Serbian Janko Tipsarevic in the semifinals as it overcame 7-6 (6) 6-2 Tunisian Malek Jaziri in less than 2 hours.
Then Thomaz Bellucci in a great performance liquidated Australian Bernard Tomic double 6-2 in 61 minutes. The exhibition of Brazilian power on serve (14 aces) and 92% effective with the first service break plus twice sleeve left no doubt of his superiority in the match. The South American top seed will play against the Czech Tomas Berdych who alighted compatriot Jiri Vesely 7-6 (1) 3-6 6-2.
In Chengdu, the biggest surprise was the triumph of Russian young Karen Khachanov 20 years on the experienced ‘ Feli ‘ in straight sets. The ineffectiveness of Toledo with the second serve (below 40%) would allow Khachanov could break in the eighth game of the first set – in his fifth attempt – and then serve to set. The Muscovite did not suffer stage fright and closed 6-3. Very solid on serve, Khachanov continued to build Feliciano errors. A climb to the network Toledano finished off with a long drive would give a new ‘break’ into Russian, this time in the third ‘game’ of the second set. Lopez never found the formula to even find a breakpoint and ended up losing 6-4 after 73 minutes.
Then the Serbian Viktor Troicki broke off two victories followed by Kevin Anderson on him – including one in the first round of the Masters in Canada this year – outperforming the giant Johannesburg. 6-3, 7-6 (4) Troicki face Khachanov by a place in the final. The third match of the day took him Grigor Dimitrov in three sets 4-6 6-4 6-3 win over Argentine Diego Schwartzman and play against the Catalan Albert Ramos Vinolas won him great performance Dominik Thiem – tenth global player – 6-1 6-4.http://www.sportseducationexpo.com/berdych-and-bellucci-semifinalists.htmlTennisberdych
