Mexico Grand Prix 2016 Formula 1: Hamilton wins, bad day for Alonso and Sainz
The fight for the title in the World Formula 1 remains open after Lewis Hamilton has managed to win the GP of Mexico. Nico Rosberg was second but at least the UK has reduced the difference to his team until the 19 points before the appointment of Brazil, the penultimate of the season.
The podium in Mexico was completed by Sebastian Vettel after Max Verstappen was suspended dropping to fifth place behind Daniel Ricciardo. Neither Fernando Alonso nor Carlos Sainz Jr. has been able to approach the points in a career that has had various problems.
Lewis Hamilton dominated the race from the start that has been controversial for him since he skipped the chicane in the first corner to defend its first position. The action has not been sanctioned by the commissioners although clearly took the lead on Rosberg and Verstappen who came to their hunt. For it off Verstappen was sanctioned in the closing laps by similar action and it cost him the podium so there will be controversy about this in the coming days.
At the exit there were several touches. Ricciardo had a flat tire to touch Vettel and Wehrlein and Ericsson left out after a touch with Gutierrez forcing the output of the safety car. Sainz and Alonso came not to touch but the Toro Rosso closed at McLaren that had to go to the grass. Sainz was banned for 5 seconds and Alonso said from there and it was all uphill because he had to do 40 laps behind Sainz who had less rhythm.
Top it off I had a bad pit stop because a wheel was complicated life to his mechanics so there ended their options points. The Sainz went away with the sanction and problems in both the gearbox and the brakes.
Beyond the start the race was fairly stable. Hamilton distanced himself from Rosberg and the German could always stay ahead of the men of Red Bull. The prettiest battle staged Verstappen, Vettel and Ricciardo in the final laps. The Ferrari tried to overtake but this young Dutchman defended a similar action that made Hamilton on the first lap.
It seemed that Verstappen return the position to Vettel also had to fend off attacks Ricciardo but he did not and went to the area of podium where he learned that he was punished with five seconds that gave third place to Vettel . Why he was sanctioned Hamilton Verstappen and not when the two actions were practically the same? that ‘s what the commissioners will have to answer in the coming days.
Raikkonen and Hulkenberg also fought in the last laps in a battle that was decided after a top German. The Perez Williams and running before his audience closed the points.
With this result Rosberg still has the world’s throw with 349 points but Hamilton has approached and placed with 330. Brazil and Abu Dhabi will decide the title in the coming weeks but Hamilton takes more than victories to win because Rosberg is running with calculator in hand and managing their advantage.http://www.sportseducationexpo.com/mexico-grand-prix-2016-hamilton-wins.htmlFormula 1mexico grand prix 2016,mexico grand prix 2016 winner
